Flip Flop
by Sofia Ramoreras

Flip flop, flip flop.
The rain is going down the drain.
Flip flop, flip flop.
We are in the lane.
Flip flop, flip flop.
The clock struck five, then alive.
Flip flop, flippety flop.
Nop!

Today the Rabbits Reading Group did a play for the class called Soup Fit For a King.  They used lots of great expression in their voices and some students even played more than one character!

The kids in Room Five are enjoying constructing things from the blocks.  They have created Super Cities!

Today in Drama, Room Five played Elves, Wizards and Giants, which involved good listening skills.  We played Lego Blocks where we had to build things with our bodies by working as a team and we learned about what happens to our bodies when we feel scared.  After that we got a chance to relax and work on our breathing.

Tyler says, "It was awesome!  My favourite part was the Lego Blocks game".
Harry says, "Playing Lego Blocks was incredible!"
Valerie says, " My favourite part was when we had to move around the room without touching anybody else."

 Our Plays about Bullying

The Power of the Group!

Today Room Five made up short plays in groups about bullying and how to deal with it.
Room Five knows that it's not okay to let bullying happen and that there is power in standing up for others.  It's not okay to stand back and watch someone being bullied!

Our first drama lesson!

In drama today we did lots of cool stuff!  We played some listening games, which included doing an Irish jig!  Then we played a game called Fruit Bowl, where we were different pieces of fruit and we had to practice listening by changing places with other pieces of fruit with the same name.  It was great fun!
Neveah. R says, “The jig was easy to do!”
Victoria says, “It was really fun!”
Connor says, “It was awesome!”
Marc was a great leader when the students had to go into the middle and dance.
